memorial day at chartiers cemetery

So many veterans...Chartiers Cemetery was opened after the Civil War and holds the remains of thousands from the area. It's a Carnegie Memorial Day tradition to carry the Memorial Day Parade out of town on East Main Street and right up Noblestown Road to Chartiers Cemetery to have a dedication ceremony for all the veterans who have passed. The Boy Scouts are busy the day before placing flags on all the veteran's graves. I took these photos in 2007 when the weather was clear after the parade.
